Buying Your First Home in Englewood
Englewood is for the first-time buyer who wants a little more house and a real backyard, I like to call it Denver, without being IN Denver, you know?. Think 1930s bungalows, mid-century ranches and tree-lined streets just south of the Denver border.
What $500K buys in Englewood
Right now, 2 bedroom homes in Englewood average around $425K, and 3 bedrooms average around $525K. That makes Englewood one of the best spots near Denver to get a single-family home with a yard and a garage for around $500K.
Real example: In October 2026, I did a video tour of a 1931 Englewood bungalow listed at $468K, and you all loved it! It has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, quartz counters, central air, a finished basement, a detached garage and a fully fenced backyard with a fire pit. That's quintessential Englewood: classic charm, room to breathe and a price that still works for first-time buyers. Catch the full tour on my Instagram, Here!
Why first-time buyers love Englewood
More house and more yard for your money than most of central Denver
Downtown Englewood's stretch of South Broadway for vintage shops, local restaurants and shows at the Gothic Theatre
Two light rail stations, Englewood and Oxford, for an easy ride downtown
Good to know
Englewood is its own city, not part of Denver, so it has its own rules for things like permits and utilities. An Englewood mailing address also doesn't always mean you're in the City of Englewood, so I'll confirm which city a home is actually in before you fall for it. And since a lot of the homes here were built in the 1930s to 1950s, we'll always scope the sewer line during inspection.
